By Grant Lewis – Our lucky winner of the latest round of Catch the Ace is….Shari Duval. Shari is the big winner this time round and has 30,000 reasons to smile!!!! That was the jackpot….$30,000.
Shari admitted that normally she buys two tickets through Espanola Minor Ball, but decided since this was the final draw, why not buy two extra tickets. So she did….envelope number 49 and 37. And guess what…#49 WON.
Shari is a local single mom and went to A.B. Ellis Public and Espanola High. She worked as supervisor at A.B, Ellis for 17 years, so she could be home with the kids and for the past three years, she has worked at Tanner’s as a cashier and at the Courtesy desk. Life has been really tough at times but Shari has always managed to come up smiling.
Her priority for the winnings will be to pay off bills and either fix up her present car or perhaps a new one. “Please make sure you mention how grateful I am to the Lions Club for not only this windfall, but also for everything the club does for the Community”, she insisted at the end of the interview.
