Mindemoya Tournament sees multiple teams mix it up on the diamond

By Rosalind Russell – Last weekend, 40 teams from across Ontario converged in Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island to take part of the Annual Mindemoya Youth Ball Tournament.

Co-organizer Greg Lockyer says that adds up to 530 players taking part in 89 games and an exhibition T-Ball game between the Gore Bay Bobcats and Mindemoya Mini-Monkeys.

He says about1,300 people took in the weekend and thanks all of them, the sponsors and volunteers for a fantastic weekend.

The winners are as follows:

The Prescott ‘A’ Champions – Base Invaders over Gore Bay Rizzlers

The Lanktree ‘A’ Champions – Gore Bay Bruisers over Ghost Pirates.

The Love ‘A’ Champions – Midnight Batters over Espanola Sluggers.

The King ‘A’ Champions – AOK Storm over LaCloche Lakers

And the Lockyer ‘A’ Champions – Clear Lakers over Big Hitties
