By Rosalind Russell – Minimum wage is up in Ontario.
As of yesterday, it’s $17.95 an hour.
That’s a 35-cent increase with the province saying more than 700,000 workers across Ontario will benefit from the increase.
Officials say the annual increase is tied to the provincial Consumer Price Index of 1.9 per cent and marks the second-highest rate among provinces.
They say a person working 40 hours per week will see an annual pay increase of about $728.
