By Rosalind Russell – Privatization of health care services is the focus of a town hall meeting to be held online tomorrow across the Algoma District.
Albert Dupuis, co-chair of the Algoma Health Coalition says the meeting will be held at the Moose Lodge in Sault Ste. Marie and online through Zoom at 7 pm tomorrow (Tuesday, November 3).
He says Alberta passed legislation on October 1 that the coalition believes could end universal health care by allowing private clinics to charge patients for surgeries and test, enable the wealthy to skip the queue, and more.
Dupuis says the Ford government is allowing privatization of primary care with pay-your-way nurse practitioner clinics and online companies.
