More funding for every Ontario police service – $286,447.51

By Rosalind Russell – Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Bill Rosenberg says police services across the province are receiving support funding from the Ontario government.

According to Rosenberg, every police service will receive just over $286,000 in grant funding for front-line services.

He says the funding is coming from the Proceeds of Crime Front-Line Policing Grant.

Rosenberg adds as one example, the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service will invest the funds in the Circle of Protection Project over a three-year period through the Proceeds of Crime Front-Line Policing Grant to support the Greater Sudbury Police Service Community Pathways Program.

He says the full list of recipients and their various projects will be released today by Queen’s Park.
