By Rosalind Russell – Late last week, members of the École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord school community in Blind River joined forces for the annual “United Against Hunger” food drive.
Principal Hassan Azzi says the initiative not only supports families in need, but also demonstrates the importance of kindness, social responsibility and working together to make a positive difference in the community.
He adds students and teachers went door to door throughout the community to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations in support the Blind River Food Bank.
Azzi says dozens of items were collected and over $200 in monetary donations made to support the agency and he extends a thank you to the community for its support.
