Royal Fair underway featuring Northern Ontario businesses

By Rosalind Russell – A few area businesses are off to the Royal Winter Agricultural Fair in Toronto.

Manitoulin Island businesses include a chocolatier, Finnia Chocolate & Cacao, and a fishing operation, Purvis Fisheries, both out of Gore Bay.

On the farming side, Family Farmstead of Mindemoya will also have a booth.

Several businesses from Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie are also taking part including Destination North Ontario, the agency that works with tourism-related businesses throughout the Algoma District.

FedNor says the showcase gives dozens of Northern Ontario-based agri-food businesses the opportunity to promote their products, find new markets, and create new partnerships.

‘The Royal’ starts today and runs through Nov. 15 attracting an average of 300,000 visitors every year.
