ADSAB launches district wide survey focused on housing and homelessness

By Rosalind Russell – The Algoma District Services Administration Board has launched a survey focused on housing and homelessness across the Algoma District.

According to the release, the board is working on the 2026-2036 Housing and Homelessness Plan, which will provide a long-term strategic framework to set priorities over the next decade, so the public’s input is crucial to its implementation.

They will also be hosting community engagement meetings at the end of the month in Blind River, Elliot Lake, and Wawa, as well as one virtual town hall.

ADSAB has retained OrgCode Consulting Inc. to support the development of the new Plan.
The process will consider a range of information, including local housing and homelessness data, demographic and economic trends, existing policies and programs, future needs, and information gathered through community and stakeholder engagement.
This work will provide an updated understanding of housing and homelessness across the district to support the development of the 2026-2036 Housing and Homelessness Plan.
