Anishinabek Nation hosting inaugural economic development forum

By Rosalind Russell – The Anishinabek Nation is hosting an inaugural three-day economic development forum today.

First Nations citizens and representatives, industry experts, and government officials will focus on how to access and sustain economic opportunities and feature expert panels and keynote presentations.

The goal of the Forum is to encourage dialogue and networking on how to expand and assist communities in developing their economic sovereignty.

Keynote speakers include Dawn Madahbee – Leach, the General Manager of Waubetek  Business Development Corporation and Darlene Solomon, the Manager of Economic Development of Anishinabek Nation.

The conference runs until Wednesday in Sault Ste. Marie.
