Being prepared for an emergency

By Rosalind Russell – Everyone has a role to play in an emergency, so putting a plan in place is the goal of Emergency Preparedness Week in Ontario May 7th – 13th following this year’s theme — Be Prepared. Know Your Risks.

Residents in the Lee Valley area are being encouraged to come out to the Lee Valley Hall next Monday for an information session with firefighters, police, hydro and public health focusing on being ready for an emergency.

The meeting is set for 7 pm.

The Ontario government is encouraging families to put together an emergency preparedness kit, have an escape plan and to take an active role in teaching their children what to do in an emergency.
