By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Blind River is marking Parks & Recreation Month this year by opening a new basketball court.
The municipality teamed up with Cameco to fulfill a request by local high school students following a presentation to the council earlier this year.
As a result, the Bud MacIver ODR was painted, new nets installed, benches painted and placed, and as a bonus, the rink was divided to also allow for ball hockey.
The new attraction has lights and will be open to the wider public until 10:30 pm.
