Blood cancer May-long campaign raises over $2,000

By Rosalind Russell – The Espanola Beer Store was successful in raising just over $2,000 to go towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

General Manager Taryn Bond says the Espanola Lions hosted a barbecue raising $338 and also donated $500 to the cause.

 She adds the Beer Store hosted a bottle drive throughout the month of May to raise the funds for a total of $2063 for the society.

Bond extends a thank you to the Lions, student volunteers and the public for supporting the initiative.
