By Rosalind Russell – Arrangements for the Celebration of Life for Espanola’s own Wayne Ashton will be held this week.
Ashton who served 50 years as a volunteer firefighter in Espanola was well known for his other work including a career with the former A&P working his way up to manager, and after retirement, as a process server, private investigator, bylaw enforcement officer and a guard for the OPP.
The public is invited to come out and share their memories this Friday at 11 am at the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion.
Flags have also been lowered to half-mast to honour his years of dedication to the community.
