City of Elliot Lake introduces new signage

By Rosalind Russell – The City of Elliot Lake has introduced an interactive art installation at Spruce Beach.

According to the release, city staff were joined by the Bujold family at Spruce Beach to celebrate the installation of the interactive signage.

The city says the Elliot Lake Letter Sign allows people to take photos while capturing the picturesque backdrop of Elliot Lake and its symbolic rock.

The monument was an initiative of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, designed by its chair Linda Finn, and was funded by Arlene Bujold in dedication of her late husband, Jerry Bujold.

Jerry Bujold was born in Elliot Lake in 1961 and the city was home until his passing in 2016.

A lifetime photographer, he worked full-time in that position for Denison Mines and opened his own studio, The FrameMaker, in 1984.
