Community honours one of their own

By Rosalind Russell – The Webbwood Eagles Hall was packed this past Saturday evening for community members to honour a local well-known man, father, grandfather, and volunteer.

Tom Proctor had been diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and lost his battle to the disease early last week.

Before his passing family and friends had planned the gathering to raise funds, but that event turned into an evening of sharing memories instead.

Proctor was one of the local plow guys for several years and was a long-time volunteer firefighter who also loved spending time with family and friends.

His partner, Shirley Bryant, says thank you to everyone who attended adding the plans for Tom’s Celebration of Life are now being finalized.

He was 72.
