By Rosalind Russell – Next week, from November 25 to 27, Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon will host the 2025 Franco-du-Nord Volleyball Tournament.
Education Director, Tom Michaud, says more than 460 young Francophone athletes from 19 elementary and secondary schools across Northern Ontario will take part.
He says the Grade 7 and 8 boys and girls will compete over three days on 45 different teams.
Michaud adds the tournament will take place at Laurentian University’s Student Recreation Centre and the Alphonse-Raymond Pavilion (935 Ramsey Lake Road, Sudbury.
Athletes will also have a chance to connect during a social evening on Wednesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. at Collège Notre-Dame (100 Lévis Street, Sudbury).
The event will feature a performance by local musicians Rodney Meilleur, Patrick Wright, and Duncan Cameron, along with Francophone identity-building activities.
