The Espanola Fire Department was very sad to cancel its annual Canada Day Fireworks this year due to the province-wide open fire ban.
According to the release, the fireworks were cancelled to err on the side of caution and safety during the ban.
The department has announced the fiery fireworks display will take place at the Red McCarthy Memorial Ballfields at dusk on September 2nd.
The funds for the display were raised locally through boot drives and fundraisers held over the last year.
