By Rosalind Russell – Manitoulin Health Centre is launching the Douglas A. Smith Family Foundation Community & Business Challenge, a fundraising initiative in support of Vital Visions to invest in critical medical equipment.
Health Centre CEO and President Paula Fields says the foundation has pledged to match community and business donations dollar-for-dollar up to $200,000.
She says funds raised through the challenge will support priority medical equipment needs at Manitoulin Health Centre’s Little Current and Mindemoya hospital sites, adding the specific equipment supported will be identified based on clinical priorities, patient needs and the organization’s equipment replacement plan.
The links to donate are on our website.
WEB: Fields says the Manitoulin Health Centre extends its sincere condolences to the Smith family following the recent passing of Douglas A. Smith, the founder of Manitoulin Transport and a respected community leader whose legacy will strengthen healthcare services for years to come.
