By Rosalind Russell – The four fire departments of the LaCloche Region were joined by emergency medical staff and OPP Saturday afternoon for an honourary drive-by to thank one of their own for his years of service.
Firefighter James Ramsay says nearly 100 people turned out for the drive-by on Shamess Crescent in the north end of Espanola Saturday afternoon to honour Dan Gallagher, who passed away on Sunday.
Ramsay says Gallagher served for many years and adds firefighters from Espanola, Baldwin, Nairn & Hyman and Sables-Spanish Rivers came out to honour his dedication.
They were joined by paramedics and OPP officers.
Gallagher was 77.
