By Rosalind Russell – The Algoma Manitoulin NDP Riding Association has selected David Timeriski of Elliot as their candidate for the riding.
A Zoom meeting was headed up by the association last night.
Officials say David spent 25 years as a Volunteer Firefighter with the City of Elliot Lake Fire Services and worked as a Handi-Lift Transit Bus driver, then a long career in emergency medical services as a Paramedic, serving communities across the North, including Manitouwadge, Espanola, and Elliot Lake.
In addition to his work in emergency services, Timeriski has served as a Court Enforcement Officer with the Ministry of the Attorney General for over 25 years, extending his impact across Ontario.
He thanked Laura Owl from Sagamok Anishnabek First Nation for throwing her hat in the ring and wished her good luck in her future endeavours.
He also thanked the members for their vote of confidence in the race for the MPP seat for Algoma-Manitoulin.
