Espanola family needs financial assistance to modify their home

By Rosalind Russell – An Espanola family is reaching out to the community asking for assistance in helping them modify their home for the return of their son.

Mark and Karen Wikiruk’s son Cody suffered a brain aneurysm stroke 14 months ago.

Karen says Cody is fully cognitive and aware of his surroundings as well as the people around him, adding that conversation is very limited and will improve through speech rehabilitation.

She adds that his right arm and leg will require physical therapy to improve mobility.

To that end, they want him to come home, but the house needs renovation to accommodate his needs before his arrival on June 2nd.

Karen says any donations would be much appreciated to help offset costs, with a focus on a new door and ramp for access to their home.

Donations can be sent to kwikiruk.k7@gmail.com. For more information, private message Karen on Facebook.
