By Rosalind Russell – Algoma Manor Nursing Home has expanded its current Clinical Services.
Officials say it will now include specialized pain management and additional specialist supports.
Manor CEO Pamela Ficociello says the expanded services will operate under the name Unika Medical Clinic Algoma (UMC).
She says the initiative aims to improve access to timely, specialized care for individuals across the Algoma District who currently face long waiting times and significant travel for specialized treatment.
The new pain management clinic will begin accepting referrals after June 15.
She adds through the partnership, patients will now have access to experienced pain management specialists, Dr. Kevin Smith and Dr. Michael Gofeld, who have been servicing Algoma region through Sault Area Hospital since 2023 and whose expertise will enhance the scope of services available within our community.
