By Rosalind Russell -Elliot Lake’s Burley Field will be the place to be for the First Annual Wiggy’s Slo-Pitch Tournament in memory of a long-time ball player, Daniel Wawia.
Wawia was well-known for his love of the game and his gameplay within the community.
Proceeds will go to families in need who want to put their child into youth slo-pitch but may be struggling, so the organizers will pay their fee for the year and provide new equipment such as a glove, bat, and cleats.
The tourney will take place next weekend.
