By Rosalind Russell – Flood warnings have been issued in municipalities all along the Spanish River.
The river is running higher than ever due to the recent heavy rains and the frozen ground.
To that end, municipalities from Sables-Spanish Rivers to Nairn & Hyman Township have put out flood alerts.
Anyone living along the river is asked to move belongings out of low-lying areas, such as basements, and move other items, such as outdoor furnishings and such to higher ground, to also be aware of evacuation procedures and have an evacuation kit ready.
