Fourth Annual Drug Awareness Walk focuses on one at a time

By Rosalind Russell – The opioid crisis is global in nature, but when it comes to action, local services and empowerment is where the works begins, one person at a time.

That was the message shared by Espanola’s Overdose Awareness Committee co-chairs, Rosalind Russell and Linda Collins.

The two have organized the walk for the last four years, as individuals who have had family members deal with drug issues.

Around 30 people took in the walk this past Sunday at the Oval in Espanola, sharing the message of helping individuals one at a time.

Several service agencies also took part sharing their information in how to help people on an individual basis.
