By Rosalind Russell – The Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers will be hosting local Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Bill Rosenberg next week for a vital funding announcement.
According to the release, the Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure has approved the project titled “Massey Water Distribution System Improvements”,which was submitted through the Health and Safety Water Stream (HSWS) under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program (MHIP).
The project is estimated at $5.7 million dollars with the province contributing $4,163,737 and the balance coming from local coffers.
The money will be used to replace a major piece of the aging water system in the community of Massey.
