By Rosalind Russell – A long-time organization is celebrating its 60th anniversary on, and off, the big water in just over a week’s time.
The Great Lakes Cruising Club is celebrating the milestone with a rendezvous being hosted by and at the Little Current Waterfront, according to Jib and Debbie Turner who is chairing this year’s special event.
The event runs for four days, Sunday, July 13 to Thursday, July 17 and boaters from around the globe and the Great Lakes will meet up to take part in many celebratory gatherings.
There will also be other activities including horseback riding, hiking and walking trails, a museum tour, and, of course, charter fishing.
The Club was founded back in 1934, and the first rendezvous was held in 1965 to honour the original founders.
