By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake council will be discussing the rezoning of a former school property on Lisbon Road to allow for the construction of a new hotel.
Elliot Lake’s bylaw and planning committee will look at a property rezoning when it meets tonight, which is expected to pave the way for a 60-unit hotel.
The vacant school at 20 Lisbon Road was severely damaged in a fire in November of 2021.
The rezoning is expected to be approved by the committee which will provide the opportunity for the full council to discuss it at a meeting later this month.
