By Rosalind Russell – North Region’s Supervising Coroner, Dr. Laura Piccinin, has announced an inquest will be held into the death of a Sudbury man who died over four years ago.
Twenty-seven-year old Jessie Mayhew, died in hospital on February 11, 2022, after being transferred from the Sudbury Jail.
Officials say an inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act and will examine the circumstances surrounding his death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
Details regarding the inquest, including the date and venue, will be provided at a later date.
