Investigation into house fire with serious injuries

By Rosalind Russell – East Algoma OPP is working in partnership with the Mississauga First Nation Police Service investigating a house fire that occurred last week where one person was seriously injured.

Constable Bev Gauthier says last Wednesday night around 5 pm, police, fire and medical services all responded to the fire on West Street in Mississauga First Nation.

She says the 54-year-old homeowner was transported to hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.

Gauthier adds their Crime Unit, forensic services and the Office of the Fire Marshall is continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
