It’s Police Week and Sagamok is hosting a ribbon cutting 

By Rosalind Russell – It is Police Week and to celebrate their police service, the community of Sagamok-Anishinabek First Nation will be hosting a ribbon-cutting at their new detachment. 

This Friday’s gathering will begin with welcome honour song by the Biidaaban Girls Drum Group at 11 am followed by a smudge ceremony by fire chief Bruce Southwind and prayer by Grace Manitowabi . 

Chief Angus Toulouse and Anishinabek Police Service Chief Jeff Sky will address the assembly followed by the ribbon cutting and a barbecue. 

Everyone is invited to attend.
