La Renaissance students bring French Canadian Holiday Traditions to Life

On Friday, December 5, Grade 4 and 5 students at École catholique La Renaissance in Espanola took part in a hands-on workshop celebrating French Canadian culture. With guidance from Rodney Meilleur (Identity-Building Facilitator at Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon), musician Duncan Cameron, and Lynn Maclean (retired CSC Nouvelon principal), students explored French Canadian Christmas traditions, played wooden spoons, and brought the lively Bastringue dance to life. The day concluded with a dynamic performance for the school community during a showcase in the gymnasium. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this cultural project possible, helping to keep Francophone heritage vibrant among youth!
