By Rosalind Russell – Up to 155 libraries in Ontario including those in the Manitoulin Island and North Shore Corridor will benefit from increased provincial support.
The Internet Connectivity Grant program has been increased by one hundred and twenty-two grand to just under six hundred thousand dollars.
It reimburses libraries for the cost of installing publicly accessible internet.
Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport Neil Lumsden announced the boost yesterday adding his government recognizes how important libraries are.
The funding is exclusively for libraries in communities with under twenty thousand people.
