By Grant Lewis – On Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre in Azilda, the Lions’ SuperSTARS Showcase featured 13-year-old vocalist Adele Bishop, Espanola’s very own up and coming star. This exciting event is a collaboration between District A-5 Lions Clubs in Northeastern Ontario and Productions Café Heritage. The Espanola Lions Club is incredibly proud to support this program in mentoring and coaching young artists. The event Committee Member Gary Michalak shared, “This opportunity highlights the talent, dedication, and spirit of our performers, and we are proud to be part of an event that celebrates community, creativity, and the Lions’ long standing commitment to supporting local excellence.” Youth aged 6-19 from across Northeastern Ontario were invited to audition, and Adele was selected as a returning performer for her second year in the Showcase. Adele performed, “The Winner Takes It All”, an Abba classic made even more popular in the hit musical Mama Mia! She graced the A.B. Ellis stage with this song performance at the Espanola Winter Carnival’s Variety Night on February 7, 2026, also while accompanying herself on piano. We congratulate Adele as a young lady with a bright future; combined with her natural talent and kind spirit, she is sure to continue sharing her passion for music with others.
