By Rosalind Russell – The Manitoulin Health Centre has installed its IV Smart Pumps, which are now fully operational at both hospital sites.
Officials say staff have completed comprehensive training, and the IV Smart Pumps are officially live — enhancing medication safety and supporting improved patient outcomes across the organization.
Hospital CEO, President Paula Fields says the advanced infusion pumps include built-in safeguards that help ensure medications are administered accurately and consistently, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to safe, high-quality care close to home.
Board chair, Dennis McGregor echoed that sentiment adding he extends a thank you to the Manitoulin community for its ongoing support for the $350,000 needed to pay for the pumps, installation and training of the staff.
