(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person has been charged following a serious four-vehicle collision near Nairn Centre.
On Monday, June 9, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Sudbury Detachment of the OPP, and Fire Service responded to a four-vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Ella Road in the Lorne Township. One person was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries by Sudbury-Manitoulin Paramedic Services. One person was extricated from their vehicle and transported to hospital by Air Ornge.
Highway 17 was closed in both directions for approximately two hours while police conducted the investigation.
As a result, a 79-year-old driver was charged with careless driving.
