Mexico situation easing for Canadians

By Rosalind Russell – Some schedules may be altered but several Canadian airlines say flights are set to resume to and from Puerto Vallarta and other Mexican locations today (Tues).

Dozens of Canadian flights were cancelled yesterday (Mon) amid the security situation there. Violence broke out in some areas on Sunday after a cartel leader was killed.

Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says as of yesterday (Mon) morning, more than 26,000 Canadians in Mexico have registered with Global Affairs Canada.

She says those registered can receive timely updates on the ongoing situation and travel advice.
