No strike at Elliot Lake, North Bay or Sault Ste. Marie No Frills

By Rosalind Russell – The looming strike of over a thousand No Frills workers in Ontario will not have an impact locally.

Elliot Lake store manager Cody Lefebvre says the three stores in Elliot Lake, North Bay, and Sault Ste. Marie negotiate with UFCW, not Unifor.

He adds negotiations for the collective agreements are to take place next year in March.

Unifor has set a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, with national president Lana Payne saying Loblaw must come to the table prepared to raise wages and improve working conditions for grocery store workers.
