NOJHL extends Elliot Lake Vikings Leave of Absence through 2025-26 season

By Rosalind Russell – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has extended the leave of absence of the Elliot Lake Vikings franchise for the 2025-26 season.
League commissioner Robert Mazzuca says the leave is due to the continuing uncertainties as to when the Vikings’ home venue of Rogers Arena, formerly Centennial Arena, in Elliot Lake will open again for use.

He says the initial leave was granted by the league back in December of 2024.
Mazzuca adds the NOJHL will operate with 11 teams for the upcoming season.
