One client; One record – unifying the public health records network

By Rosalind Russell – Public Health Sudbury & Districts has launched a new program that will unify the health network throughout its jurisdiction by creating a single, unified client record.

Officials say it will simplify processes, reduce duplication, and support continuous care across programs.

Acting Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Emily Groot says a new electronic medical record system powered by Intrahealth is being launched in the Manitoulin and Sudbury districts.

She says the new system will record to a digital format to better meet the health needs of local communities.

Dr. Groot says The One Client, One Record approach strengthens the agency’s ability to share accurate health information seamlessly across the agency, reducing duplication, and ensuring clients, families, and community partners experience more coordinated and efficient services.

She adds the agency will roll out clinical and community programs in stages, beginning with services like the breastfeeding clinic, Health Information Line, and the Healthy Babies Healthy Children program.
