Ontario signs another deal with an American state

By Rosalind Russell – Ontario has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State of Maryland.

Officials say it’s to expand cooperation in life sciences, information technology and clean energy industries.

According to the province, goods traded between Ontario and the state totalled $2.7 billion dollars last year.

Premier Doug Ford says we’re stronger when we work together – and he’s proud to work with Maryland to build the economy and help lower costs for workers and families. In the last couple of years, the province has also signed new economic co-operation agreements with Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey and more.
