OPP CHARGE DRIVER WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING AND DRUG OFFENCES

(ESPANOLA, ON) – Traffic complaint leads to driver being charged with impaired driving.

 

On November 20, 2023, shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle unable to maintain its lane.

 

Police located this vehicle parked in a restaurant parking lot. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

 

As a result of the investigation, Brian BUSH, 71-years-old, from Carnarvon Township has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Fabricating evidence

 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on January 15, 2024.

 

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
