By Rosalind Russell – Two North Shore communities will be hosting flag raisings on Monday to mark Pride Month.
Elliot Lake and Espanola council both proclaimed June as Pride Month.
Both mayors and councils will host their flag-raising of the Pride Flag this coming Monday, June 1st, Elliot Lake at 8:30 am, Espanola at 11 am at their respective municipal halls.
Both flag raisings take place in front of their municipal halls, and the public is welcome to attend.
The theme for Pride Month 2026 is “For All of Us”.
Officials say the theme emphasizes the importance of supporting marginalized members of the community and honours the legacy of the first New York City Pride March in 1970.
