By Rosalind Russell – Leonard Kutchaw with the Elliot Lake Food Bank says the radiothon hosted by The Moose 94.1 FM – CKNR couldn’t have gone any better.
Held last Friday, the food bank took in nearly $9,000, just over $8,200 in cash and the rest in food items says Kutchaw.
He adds that surpasses last year’s total of nearly $7,000 ensuring the shelves will be stocked for those in need this fall.
Kutchaw says last year they helped nearly 2,500 families – that figure includes 3,483 adults and 1,324 children.
He says anyone wishing to contribute to the agency, can drop by and make their donations of either food items or funds to help the hundreds of people in the area.
