For the first time in six years, Algoma Public Health says a human case of West Nile has been diagnosed in the district.
Chris Glibota, a Public Health Inspector, says it was diagnosed in Sault Ste. Marie.
He adds a crow also recently tested positive for the virus in the Soo.
Glibota is asking anyone who suspects they’ve contracted West Nile virus should contact their health care provider.
