
By Rosalind Russell – The Renaissance Active Living Centre of Elliot Lake, as a community service, will be providing its space for the use of all candidates registered in the 2026 municipal election to allow the community to meet, greet and hold town hall discussions with attending citizens.
According to the release, the facility is fully accessible and is located as a stop on all city transit routes, and the meet-and-greets are free, with the public invited in to talk to the candidates.
There will be five gatherings over the next month, with Marie Murphy Foran as facilitator for four of them and Ashley Schultz for the end of the month.
September 12 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Marie Murphy Foran
September 19 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Marie Murphy Foran
September 26 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Ashley Schultz
October 10, 2026 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Marie Murphy Foran
October 17, 2026 from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Marie Murphy Foran
All candidates will have access to tables to place their materials on for the public to
review, and a PA system will be available if needed during the program.
