By Rosalind Russell – Rural communities across the province, including every community in our listening area, can apply to the province’s new Rural Ontario Development program.
$20 million is being made available over the next two years.
The province says in the face of tariffs and economic uncertainty, the funding will support efforts to protect rural Ontario communities by encouraging economic development and helping keep workers on the job.
Eligible rural municipalities, not-for-profit groups, Indigenous communities and small businesses can apply to four funding streams.
The deadline for the first intake is September 24.
