By Rosalind Russell – The OPP Youth Foundation, along with the Ontario Provincial Police – North East Region, hosted a bike rodeo in partnership with the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service over the weekend.
The Second Annual Bike Rodeo was held in memory of the late Constable Marc Hovingh, a Manitoulin Island OPP officer who was killed while on duty in 2020.
The Tour de Force, a 140-kilometre two-day bike ride, also took place on Manitoulin over the weekend.
The event honours those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, with proceeds supporting Survivors of Law Enforcement and the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation.
A 30-km Family Ride was also held as part of the weekend’s events.
