Soccer gets a positive kick from the town

By Rosalind Russell – Espanola’s Minor Soccer League got a supportive kick from the town.

Councillor Aidan Kallioinen says he is pleased to see the staff at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex assist minor soccer in procuring new nets to permit additional soccer games for younger divisions.

He adds with the addition of the new nets, the popular game can take place at the track and field in addition to the field located adjacent to the Red McCarthy Memorial Ballfields.

Kallioinen says the league has over 250 registrants in their youth league and over 30 in the adult division, but more players are welcome.
