By Rosalind Russell – Stuff the Bus was so much fun this year, and the perfect way to celebrate Thanksgiving says Veteran’s Transportation General Manager Allannah Pelletier.
She says Veteran’s Transportation of Espanola Limited organizes the event every fall with all of the local elementary schools in Espanola and Massey.
Not only do the food banks in Massey and Espanola fill the shelves, she says the company purchases gift cards to Toppers and Poirier’s Confectionery & Pizza as the prize for the winners.
Pelletier adds Veteran’s Staff and drivers went to each school last week to collect the food stuffs and deliver them to the food banks.
St Mary raised 556 food items for their local food bank!
This year’s winners:
A B Ellis: Tie between Mrs. Lacasse Gr 3s and Mrs. Presseau’s Gr 6/7s
Sacred Heart: Mrs. Vanderburgh’s Multigrade
La Renaissance: Mme. Melanie’s Gr 3
S Geiger: Ms. Tobodo Gr 5/6
St Mary’s: Top 30 collectors – Gr 6/7 donated 121 items and was the top for their school.
